Entrepreneur Investor Visa

Traditional Company
Proof of investment, in foreign currency, in an amount equal to or greater than R$500,000.00 (five hundred thousand reais).

Startup Company
It may be below R$500,000.00 (five hundred thousand reais), and as long as it is not less than R$150,0000.00.

Regardless of the company model, an Investment or Business Plan with a 3-year execution period will need to be presented, with details of the business definition, objective of the enterprise and generation of employment or income.

This temporary visa is valid for 2 years and can be renewed at the end of the term. After the 3rd year, upon proof of certain factors such as job creation and social impact of the enterprise, the entrepreneur may apply for a Permanent Residence Permit.

The acquisition of real estate, located in an urban area, in an amount equal to or greater than R$1,000,000.00 (one million reais) and may be:

a) acquisition of constructed real estate; or
b) acquisition of real estate under construction.

The minimum investment value may be less than 30% of the total, that is, R$700,000.00 (seven hundred thousand reais), when it comes to purchasing properties in the North and Northeast regions of the country.

Real estate investment may be made in more than one property, as long as the sum of all properties corresponds to the minimum investment required. 

This temporary visa is valid for 4 years and can be renewed at the end of the term. The visa can be renewed for an Indefinite Term Visa.

Residence Application for Brazil

Investment visas for Brazil are requested based on a residence permit application. If you are in Brazil, the application is for Residence or if you are outside, the application is for Prior Residence. Regardless of the type of Investment Visa for Brazil, the first granting of the visa will always be temporary.

When you arrive in Brazil with an Investment Visa, you still need to register in the country. You are legally authorized to enter Brazil but you still need local documentation. This is because, if you need to rent a property, open an account or use other routine day-to-day processes, your passport will not be accepted.

To resolve this, you need to register with the National Migration Registry.

The National Migration Registration Card (CRNM) is the document that proves the regular migration status of foreigners in Brazil. It contains detailed information about the individual, such as name, date of birth, nationality and the reason for their stay in the country. The CRNM also provides the National Migration Registration (RNM), a unique number that identifies the foreigner in the Brazilian migration system.

In accordance with Law No. 13,445/2017, you have 90 days from your arrival in Brazil to regularize your immigration status. After this period, you will be in an irregular situation and subject to a fine.
This document will be your main document in Brazil. Brazilians have the RG (general registry) as their main document, the CRNM will be yours.

The CRNM request must be made in person at the Federal Police station. Please note that migrant services are not provided at all Federal Police units, so it is important to check the closest one on this list.

  5. Official identification document. This may be a passport, an official identity document from your country of origin, or a document issued by a Brazilian government agency that has your photo on it. This document may be expired or out of date;

  6. Original Visa Application Form

  7. Identification document of the holder (in the case of a temporary visa for family reunion);

  8. Proof of payment of fee, when applicable.

How to Apply for a Family Reunion Visa

The investor visa in Brazil is a gateway to business opportunities and family reunification. Once you have obtained the investor visa, you can apply for visas for your family members, such as your spouse and children, so that they can live together in Brazil.
